Die Ursprünge von Château La Garde gehen auf das 18. Jahrhundert zurück. Seit 1990 ist die Domaine im Besitz des Hauses Dourthe, das die Weine von La Garde zur Elite der Appellation Pessac-Léognan geführt hat. Die 52 Hektar erstklassiger Rebfläche (von denen 2 ha mit weißen Gewächsen bestockt sind) erstrecken sich auf einer Anhöhe südlich von Martillac. Ausbau über 12 bis 14 Monate in französischen Barriques, dabei 33% neues Holz.
