Henri Martin war mit seinem Beruf als Fassmacher nicht zufrieden und kaufte 1939 Château Gloria. Hiermit beginnt die Geschichte einer Leidenschaft eines Mannes für den Wein und für Château Gloria. Parzelle um Parzelle vergrößerte er das Weingut, das heute 50 ha zählt und zu 65% mit Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc und 5% Petit Verdot bepflanzt ist. Die Weine von Château Gloria sind bekannt für ihren kräftigen Körper und ihre Langlebigkeit. Typisch sind auch die Aromen schwarzer Kirschen und Cassis, die von Zeder-, Kräuter- und Gewürznoten durchzogen werden.

"Tasted blind. Deep ruby-purple colour. Slightly reticent but pure cassis fruit on the nose. The depth comes on the palate - there is real drive of black fruit and bright acidity to offer real energy. There is a sweet, juicy edge to the fruit that makes this soft and approachable. The tannins are fine and offer a delicate structure against the fruit. Should drink well  in the medium term."
