Ikone der bordelaiser Weinkultur - der Marquis de Terme ist ein sehr altes, traditionsreiches Weingut, das bekannt ist für seine langlebigen Weine. Der Name dieses 1762 gegründeten Cru Classé erinnert an den einstigen Markgrafen von Terme. Die 40 ha große Rebfläche befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft zu Château Margaux und steht seit 2009 unter der Leitung von Ludovic David, der bei Bernard Magrez gelernt hat. In den letzten Jahren wurden wichtige Investitionen in die Kellertechnik getätigt (u.a. bei der Annahme und Selektion des Leseguts sowie sanftere Vinifizierungsmethoden). Der Ausbau erfolgt über 16 bis 18 Monate in französischen Barriques (dabei 50% neues Holz).

"Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Marquis de Terme comes skipping out of the glass with bright, cheery notes of kirsch, black raspberries and blackcurrant pastilles, followed by hints of aniseed, damp soil and bouquet garni. The medium-bodied palate is delicately styled with just 13% declared alcohol and plenty of youthful, dried herbs accenting red and black fruits, supported by approachable, chewy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing with a lively lift. It's a great example of a fresher style for this vintage."

"Deep ruby, with a juicy, floral nose of plum and cherry blossom. Medium weight on the palate with sappy tannins, the fruit is a little closed for now. It feels as though there are good bones for the medium term with the crunch of tannins and lingering subtle fruit on the finish."
